Our destination today is Australia’s second largest man-made freshwater  reservoir - Lake Argyle. Covering an area of almost 800 sq miles and comprising almost 70 islands this  artificial lake has a fascinating history. It would have been hard to realize when crossing the baron,  desert-like country today to that you would finish the day surrounded by so much fresh water but that  is part of what makes the Kimberley region so spectacular.  This afternoon we will join a 2-hr sunset cruise out on the lake to discover the hidden secrets and learn  the history – bring your swimmers!

Day 7: Infinity Pools & Outback Characters

This morning you will enjoy some much-deserved down time. You may want to relax by the resort  infinity pool overlooking the lake or go on a hike with one of your guides – it’s up to you! She gave up her life in the city and moved out to live in the bush with him almost  50-years ago until he passed away 10 years ago. She now lives on an off-grid, 50-acre property on her  own and runs a small wildlife rehabilitation center. We will drive out to meet her and learn about her  incredible life, living in a basic house in the remote Australian outback. Your guides will prepare a delicious 2-course campfire meal this evening under the stars before heading  back to our accommodation at Lake Argyle.
