Day 1: Welcome to Morocco

Arrive into Marrakech and head to your charming riad to check-in and freshen up. Enjoy the beautiful sights and wander the UNESCO site of Jamaa lfna Square before tasting the incredible flavors of Moroccan cuisine and getting your first glimpse of the Red City at night.

Day 2: Sights and Sounds of Marrakesh

Take a morning walk through the souqs to an authentic spice shop; get an intro to local spices and herbs, an important part of the culture. Close by, you will see the Bin Youssef Madrasa, a stunning 12th century Islamic school, a hallmark of Islamic and North African architecture. After lunch, take part in a unique calligraphy workshop in a cozy living room of a local home. Shop for unique goods or relax back at the riad in the afternoon. Eat dinner in the marketplace of Jamya El-Fna. Enjoy fresh-squeezed orange juice, a warm bowl of soup, skewers, and mint tea.

Day 3: Local Culture and Wellness Traditions

Today we take a deep-dive into local culture. For lunch, grab ingredients in the bustling market for your cooking class with a local chef. This afternoon you’ll visit a traditional hammam (traditional bath house). Soak in the pools, exfoliate in steam rooms, and relax with clay mask facials. Explore women’s issues, Islam, and social life in Morocco during an informal Q&A with some of our local friends who enjoy sharing their perspectives with visitors.

Day 4: Desert Dreams

Another day, another adventure. After breakfast, fill your senses with essential oils during a workshop where you’ll learn how they are cultivated and what they are used for in Morocco. In the afternoon, head out for a magical evening in a luxurious tented camp in the Agafay desert. Take a sunset camel ride with the snow-capped Atlas Mountains in the distance. Back at camp, enjoy a candlelit dinner inside the radiant dining tent complete with fresh-baked bread from the earthen oven. End the evening stargazing under countless stars ---this is what dreams of Morocco are made of!

Day 5: Seaside Living in Essaouira

Start the day with a sunrise meditation and desert camp breakfast, then head to Essaouira, a quaint beach town on the Atlantic coast. Stroll the white-walled medina and European-style streets, and barter for handicrafts and textile souvenirs. Don’t miss out on fresh locally-caught fish now that you’re on the coast.

Day 6: Relax and Restore in Essaouira

Wake up to the sound of the ocean and enjoy a leisurely morning. Visit an argan oil collective where you’ll learn how this now world famous oil is grown and processed. You might even learn a few new uses for it from the women who have been using it for centuries. Take an afternoon surf lesson as a group or book a calming massage on your own. Enjoy dinner as a group at our favorite Essaouira spot.

Day 7: Surf and Eco-Chic Digs

Essaouira has some great waves for learning to surf, so grab a board! After the sea has tired you out, make your way to your home for the evening: a beautiful and unique “eco park” that sits at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, near Marrakech. This is an amazing community-led hotel and tourism project that supports and involves nearby villages. Choose from a number of awesome activities or relax by the pool.

Day 8: Amazigh Village

Wake up and head out on a hike that will take you through an Amazigh village where you will enjoy mint tea and an open Q&A with a local family. Back in Marrakech, conclude your time in Morocco with a Moroccan style Hafla (party) including some Moroccan dancing.

Day 9: Beslama, Farewell

After your breakfast, spend some time journaling or grabbing some last minute souvenirs before heading to the airport.
